Burkina Faso Flying Labs launched in March 2019 to democratize robotics for social good. Since then, the team has been promoting the use of robotics and related technologies through advocacy, practical training, and workshops.
Now, the team at AEROTECH BURKINA—led by Mr. DONDASSE Brice Arnaud, who has proven experience in using drones across fields like agriculture and forestry, inspection, surveillance, and town planning—is working to take Burkina Faso Flying Labs to the next level. The team will offer new opportunities for governments, private companies, and development organizations that are increasingly guided by data for collaboration and decision-making.
Working with local universities, NGOs, and government agencies, Burkina Faso Flying Labs will launch new pilot and research projects to promote the use of drones and data in meeting the critical challenges facing the country. The team uses each project as an opportunity to strengthen regional capacity and demonstrate the effective use of robotics and data for social impact by local experts to young people and local leaders. They will work to promote sustainable development in rural African communities through the use of innovative, adaptable, and replicable solutions aimed at the eradication of extreme poverty in sub-Saharan Africa, in particular.
Burkina Faso Flying Labs also wants to use robotics and AI as a mechanism to boost business and grow job opportunities in the country. The team provides expertise, equipment, training, and experience to those interested in learning how to use drones related software in areas like mapping, aerial photography, and data analysis. Around the world, these skills are in high demand and help create opportunities for new services and new jobs, especially through the Burkina Faso Flying Labs business incubation program and their training center for professional drone pilots.
We thank Espace Geomatique for leading Burkina Faso Flying Labs for the past year and are happy to welcome the team at AEROTECH BURKINA to the helm!
