We’re really thrilled to introduce our new colleague Joseph Muhlhausen to the WeRobotics community. Joseph serves as Head of Drone Data & System and will thus take the lead on all our drone data-and-systems work at WeRobotics, collaborating directly with all our Flying Labs and many partners around the world. Joseph joins us from the World Bank where he has spearheaded some of the most interesting and challenging drone projects in multiple regions including Latin America, Caribbean and the South Pacific. For example, Joseph led efforts to improve agricultural practices using drone imaging, including a project to assess rice irrigation with thermal sensors in the Dominican Republic.
We first met Joseph when he participated in our WeRobotics Global Conference in New York and then had the good fortune of working directly with him in the field on a World Bank drone project in the South Pacific (above photo). We immediately valued his vast experience in remote sensing and in the coordination of drone projects. We also very much value his thoughtfulness and his deep understanding of the regulatory and policy space.
Joseph has over 10 years of experience in GIS, image analysis, and drone systems. His professional experience includes designing drone systems, leading large-scale data collection projects, and managing a drone mapping company. As the founder of CielMap, a drone mapping company, Joseph worked with local partners to create the first flood model of the Marshall Islands, thereby demonstrating the benefits of using cost-effective drone solutions for economic challenges. In addition, his academic training in public policy and spatial data analysis, combined with his passion for aviation and imaging sensors, explains why we’re so thrilled that he is joining our team full time.
Please help us welcome Joseph to the team!
